Herbalife CEO Launches Mission for Nutrition

Herbalife and the Economy

These are truly challenging times as Americas and Europe, and the rest of the World as a matter of fact, go through tough financial challenges that majority of us have never seen in our lifetime. While millions of people are experiencing the recession in the economy and are under a risk of redundancies or have been made redundant already (such as myself a few months back), these changing times can indeed represent the great opportunity.

Herbalife Family Foundation Establishes Program in Poland

The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) recently established a Casa Herbalife programme outside of Warsaw to help provide good nutrition to the children at the Children's Home in Falbogi, Poland.

The orphanage opened in 1977 to provide day and overnight care and currently cares for children between the ages of two to 19 years old. Children's Home will use the grant money to supplement its current food budget and nutrition education for the children. Local independent Herbalife distributors have committed to providing ongoing support through fund raising and volunteerism.

This is the 35th Casa Herbalife programme established worldwide and more details can be found here.

HFF is a 501(c)(3), non-profit corporation dedicated to improving children's lives by helping organisations provide healthy nutrition to children at risk. Additionally, HFF often supports relief efforts in response to natural disasters.

"If Herbalife is so simple, why not everyone gets to President Team?!"

I have just listened to the training message from my upline President Team Member Benly Brown and it inspired me to share it on the blog, in the same way as she kindly put the message together for us, her organisation. So simple, but so powerful...

So, really, if Herbalife is so simple, why not everyone gets to the Pres Team?



According to Benly, there are three success factors and here they are:

1. First factor is Hard Work. This opportunity is dead simple if you are smart enough to apply the principles that successful people in the business have done... use the products, talk to people, generate leads, use existing scripts, use show-trial-do method to train and build your organisation and it is all in the duplication of the same basic principles. Actually, Benly was right to say that the opportunity is so simple to do and also it is so simple not to do!

The key is in hard work and committing to do all these simple things over and over again. It is developing a habit of doing it every single day. If you do not get the habit of doing your business and working on your Herbalife (as any other) business every single day, it will begin to die out. Momentum can die out faster than it took to build it up. "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey is an excellent book to read. And there are many others...

2. 2nd factor to the success in Herbalife business is Common Sense. From our birth to the present day we are influenced by the world around us which shapes how we see things, how we understand the world, the processes of life and when making a decision we use our common sense that has been shaped throughout our lives. I am glad Benly mentioned it as it really points out the frustration I sometimes have with prospects where I simply can not understand how they can not get the picture, they just can not get this opportunity and can not visualise the possibilities.

You either have common sense or you do not, plainly put. It took time to diffuse my frustration and really just focus on those who got it. As you can not change people, the best you can do is influence them, if possible, to want to change. Seminars are a fantastic way to allow people to see the big picture and hope that the passion and enthusiasm and stories and energy will rub off. I have seen the biggest sceptics being turned around by the power of Herbalife events and trainings.

3. Third and probably the most important factor that separates big players from the small ones is Leadership. As Herbalife is a free-will enterprise, you need to be able to lead to inspire. We are all independent in the business and leadership skill is required to be able to inspire and motivate people to do what you want them to do in order for their as well as your business to grow.

The thing is, not everyone wants to be a leader and clearly it is not even natural for everyone to be at the front, but you can learn the skill if you want. There are far too many books available on the subject, but, it is equally important to mix with the successful people by qualifying for everything, attending events... Simply put, you can not be president team without leadership!

Starting in the most north-easterly tip and ending in the most south-westerly point, this phenomenal bike ride will cover the length and breadth of mainland Britain. Ralph Rogers will begin his journey just after the EMEA Extravaganza in Marcelona in mid-June, braving uphill ascents and the British weather to raise money for the Casa Herbalife UK Project, which provides the skills and knowledge for young carers to eat and cook healthily, and enjoy a healthy meal in a social setting.

Enrique Varela & Graciela Mier: Achieving the 70K level

Fernando ‘Nani’ & Judith Rancel: Venezuela’s first Chairman’s Club Members

Fernando ‘Nani’ Rancel believes that being first means paving the way for others. Nani has grown a highly successful business across South and Central America – so successful that Nani was the first Distributor to reach the status of Chairman’s Club in the Spanish-language markets of South America.



Nani continues to use the same strategies he implemented 17 years ago when he began his business. A key attribute to his organisation’s growth is the goal to promote the use of products by his customers.

This year's Herbalife Spring Spectacular will take place at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester from 28th to 30th March.

The Spectacular is the UK and Ireland's biggest annual conference which may be attended by any Herbalife distributor. Distributors from across the country come together for the best training from our President's Team and our doctors. Herbalife Sees The Upside To Obesity, posted by Karine Vignelles

As health problems related to rising obesity begin to manifest themselves in the years ahead, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are the most obvious beneficiaries; however, companies who sell nutrition and weight management products are also set for a boost. Herbalife is a leader in this weight management industry.

With 36% of Americans classified as obese (in 2006, according to the Center for Disease Control), Herbalife has an impressive market for its diet shakes.
This means there are a lot of people out there searching for weight-loss solutions, solutions often found in a can of Herbalife's "Formula 1" diet shake mix. If Herbalife's fourth quarter results and forward looking guidance are any indication, the upside for the stock could be huge.

Slowdown? What Slowdown?
Herbalife saw its income jump to $53.8 million (77 cents a share) in Quarter 4 from $41.7 million (56 cents a share) in the comparable period last year. Its revenue line increased 19% to $578.1 million from $487.4 million last year. Analysts had been expecting earnings of just 73 cents per share on revenue of roughly $536.6 million.

Going forward, Herbalife's management expects 2008 earnings to be in the range of $3.25-3.30 per share, which is north of the $3.17-3.23 it had previously forecast, and it's also ahead of the $3.20 per share that analysts forecast. This shows Herbalife has the ability to grow despite a slowing economy and stiff competition from diet food companies such as privately held Jenny Craig.

It also shows that Herbalife's move beyond simple multi-vitamins into products like meal replacements and appetite suppressants is working. It also shows that Herbalife's footprint and distribution base are valuable assets that help set it apart. The products are currently sold in 65 countries by a network of about 1.7 million distributors.

The stock looks cheap right now. At present the company trades at about 13.2-times management's 2008 forecast of $3.25 per share, yet it's expected to grow its bottom line at a 16.4% pace from 2007 to 2008. That's pretty attractive.

As a bonus Herbalife's stock pays a small dividend whose current yield is about 1.9%.

Bottom Line
The stock looks like both a bargain and a safe haven, a rare combination in this market. Financial Writer, Glenn Curtis, thinks the stock would be more fairly valued in the mid-$50s. He thinks it has the potential to trade to this level within the next 12 months. The small dividend is the 'fat-free' icing on the cake.

Taiwanese Nutrition Specialist, Shih-Yi Huang, joins Herbalife's Nutrition Advisory Board - posted by Karine Vignelles

Herbalife Ltd. announced that Taiwanese nutrition expert Shih-Yi Huang, Ph.D. has joined the company’s Nutrition Advisory Board.

The Nutrition Advisory Board is made up of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition, diet and health who educate and train Herbalife Independent Distributors on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by Dr David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There are currently 20 members to the board, representing 17 countries.

Shih-Yi Huang is currently Chairman of Taiwan’s Taipei Medical University, School of Nutrition and Health Sciences. He is also a professor at the University. He is a specialist on human metabolism, with his expertise being on how nutrients can improve mental health. He is also a specialist of vitamins and phytochemicals.

Huang has been published extensively on the usage and effects of the very important Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as other areas of nutrition. He also serves on the boards of the Taiwan Nutrition Society and Taiwan Obesity Society so he is the ideal man to join the Herbalife Nutrition Board!

Huang received his master’s, Ph.D., and postdoctoral training from University of Rhode Island, Department of Food Science and Nutrition.

AYSO and Herbalife Announce Breakthrough Sponsor Agreement

The American Youth Soccer Organisation, AYSO and Herbalife Ltd have recently announced a four-year agreement which makes Herbalife the Official Nutrition Advisor and Official Health and Wellness Provider of the American leading youth soccer organisation.

This is a similar agreement to the one Herbalife signed with LA Galaxy. With the AYSO sponsorship, Herbalife has the rights to display its name and logo on the front of the AYSO jerseys. This is a first for the non-profit national organisation. The agreement also includes Herbalife's presence on the AYSO Web site, signage at games, an on-site presence at national and local events. It also provides Herbalife with a nutrition column in Play Soccer, AYSO's online publication.

Michael O. Johnson, Herbalife Chairman and CEO said "With child obesity on the rise, it is imperative to educate children and their parents about proper nutrition and how to have a healthy, active lifestyle". He added "Herbalife is on a mission for nutrition, while AYSO provides children, adolescents and teens an outlet to be active." According to the United States Department of Health & Human Services, "Childhood obesity has nearly tripled for adolescents in the past two decades The U.S. government agency points to lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns or a combination of the two as the leading factors in the rise of these frightening statistics.

Mike Wade, AYSO National President said "It's a natural fit as our two organizations are engaged in improving the health of today's youth". The AYSO National Board of Directors unanimously approved the agreement. "We're excited about our partnership with Herbalife and the role we'll play together to reach out to kids and help educate them and their parents about the importance of healthy choices."

The AYSO was founded in Los Angeles in 1964 with nine teams. Today, the organisation counts more than 80,000 teams, in 1100 regions serving approximately one million kids located across the U.S. Its activities are based upon its five philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, and Good Sportsmanship.

In July 2006, Herbalife announced the launch of the Herbalife Kids(TM) line of nutrition products that includes shakes and multivitamins with protein, fibre and 100 percent of key nutrients kids need on a daily basis. This new line of products is not yet available in the UK though.
